The ideal candidate will use practical IT and Software skills and hands-on skills to assist customers with using PlantStar MES software and systems installed in their manufacturing plants.
The Technical Support Specialist will also assist in configuration of PlantStar software, implementation of customer reports using PowerBI or similar software, as well as helping to diagnose, repair, assemble and test customer equipment.
Solid technical skills and good communication and customer relationship skills are a must to facilitate and build solid customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
Customer technical service and support of SYSCON PlantStar MES software.
End-user training and orientation.
System testing and troubleshooting (remote).
Database queries and report writing using PowerBI and similar tools.
Repair, assembly, and testing of computer equipment.
Potential for occasional travel to customer sites for field service support.
Post-installation configuration to suit changing customer requirements.
Project coordination and thorough documentation of activities.
Conduct test procedures for calibration and QC of our products.
Record test procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data Be a great team player with experience in working in a team environment.
Ability to collaborate closely with a team.
Other varied duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Proficient in Linux administration, testing, configuration (command line).
The ability to read and modify Bash scripts and SQL is necessary, JSON and python helpful.
PowerBI experience helpful.
Experience with PLC systems and programming a positive.
Electronics knowledge and the use of testing equipment necessary.
Eagerness to learn a varied base of knowledge.
Time management and prioritization skills necessary.
Ability to answer off-hours calls and provide support.
