This client is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer for their machining division to be based out of South Bend, IN. This Manufacturing Engineer will contribute to the efficient functioning of piston manufacturing operations by developing and providing technical knowledge used to make decisions, develop innovative piston products and piston processes, reduce costs, and create piston products recognized for highest quality. Reports to the Focus Factory Manager ? Machining. This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative environmental impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Review, recommend and bring about future piston products and piston process techniques to achieve quality products at reduced manufacturing costs.
Determine the cause of customer complaints through investigation and experimentation, and suggest and monitor corrective action to eliminate customer complaints concerning the performance and quality of products.
Review and recommend appropriate piston equipment repairs and/or design modifications.
Involved in piston manufacturing planning by bringing newly developed products and processes into successful and profitable production.
Keep abreast of new piston manufacturing methods/equipment/materials for use in developing new piston market and piston products opportunities as well as existing products and processes.
Prepare necessary and sufficient reports in a timely and orderly manner for piston project and engineering meetings.
Maintain and refine current operating procedures, equipment and process control procedures for manufacturing.
Continuous training of shop floor personnel in standard procedures for the purpose of obtaining operating efficiencies and costs reductions.
Ensures compliance with all EHSMS policies and procedures.
Instructs on safe work practices and promotes safety consciousness while practicing safety procedures, enforcing policy regarding safety and making recommendations when needed.
Sees that company policies and programs are effectively made known; cooperates and assists in the development of effective communications.
Promotes a positive employer-employee relation.
Maintains departmental efficiency regarding timeliness and quality of reports and procedural requirements.
Maintains inter-departmental relationships of such a caliber as to promote confidence, integrity and cooperation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Demonstrates leadership ability, conflict resolution and problem solving
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
Knowledgeable of mechanical principles, machining practices, CNC equipment and tooling generally acquired through a Bachelors degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
Experience in the Manufacturing Engineering field.
Understanding of quality planning methods and measuring equipment including SPC.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovation to economically solve manufacturing problems.
Able to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management, especially first line.
Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers and group companies.







Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
