Continuous Improvement Engineer


Our client is a $7 billion Tier 1 automotive manufacturer of powertrain products (OEM and aftermarket). We currently are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for their South Bend IN location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Assesses the effectiveness of the Quality Process and offers recommendations for Continuous Improvement in the Group working closely with project managers and quality specialists.
Acts to reduce Costs Of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Leads scrap reduction meetings.
Takes on scrap reduction project and also assigns scrap reduction projects to other engineers/production teams.
Review, recommend and bring about future piston products and piston process techniques to achieve quality products at reduced manufacturing costs.
Determine the cause of customer complaints through investigation and experimentation, and suggest and monitor corrective action to eliminate customer complaints concerning the performance and quality of products.
Review and recommend appropriate piston equipment repairs and/or design modifications.
Analyses quality data and trends to identify opportunity for improvement.
Supports scrap reduction teams comprised of engineers, operators, supervisors in increasing the effectiveness of processes
Develops project plans for implementing improvements
Monitors the new processes to ensure they work as intended.
Acts in a cross-functional way involving all departments (not only in machining area).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field and minimum of 5 yrs related continuous improvement experience.
Experience utilizing statistical methods & structured problem solving (Six Sigma, Red X, etc.) to analyze manufacturing defects and find root cause(s).
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Minitab
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
Understanding of quality planning methods and measuring equipment including SPC.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovation to economically solve manufacturing problems.
Able to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management, especially first line.
Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers and group companies.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
