Machine Vision Engineer
Our client is a global leader in diverse automotive products for OEM and aftermarket. We are currently searching for a direct hire in Vision Engineering for their South Bend IN location.
Contribute to the efficient functioning of piston manufacturing operations by developing and providing technical knowledge used to make decisions, develop innovative piston inspection and gauging processes, reduce costs, and creates piston products recognized for highest quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Review, recommend and bring about future piston vision techniques to achieve quality products at reduced manufacturing costs.
Determine the cause of customer complaints through investigation and experimentation, and suggest and monitor corrective action to eliminate customer complaints concerning the performance and quality of products.
Review and recommend appropriate piston equipment repairs and/or design modifications.
Involved in piston manufacturing planning by bringing newly developed products and processes into successful and profitable production.
Keep abreast of new vision methods/equipment/materials for use in developing new methods of protecting the customer against non-conforming products.
Instructs on safe work practices and promotes safety consciousness while practicing safety procedures, enforcing policy regarding safety and making recommendations when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor's degree REQUIRED.
Experience:
2. Minimum of 3 YEARS in MACHINE VISION area REQUIRED.
3. Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of manufacturing equipment and/or tooling problems and be attentive to detail.
4. Understanding of quality planning methods and measuring equipment including SPC.
5. Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovation to economically solve manufacturing problems
6. Able to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management, especially first line.
7. Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers and group companies.
8. Has the ability to apply appropriate technologies (vision, poke yoke, and other methodologies) to assure product quality
9. Ensure verification system is robust and repeatable.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
