CNC Mill Operator
LTI Services is seeking qualified candidates for a CNC Mill Operator Machinist position at a prominent metals machining company in South Bend. This position is a temp-to-permanent position, with potential hire-on after 90 days.
Responsibilities:
Use router & set-up sheets, select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines
Ability to make decisions that it takes to get a part roughed in quickly
Adjust and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds and depth or angle of cut, input and/or edit computerized data to optimize the efficiencies
Ability to create a process/method to machine the part, then create a machine program to machine the part
Perform required tool diameter, wear compensation and editing of programs
Perform required checking to run a quality part without assistance
Upload and download programs
Ability to troubleshoot minor problems and issues without assistance
Requirements are:
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Mill Operator and CNC Machinist
Experience with multiple hole drilling and tapping operations on production runs of castings or diametrical parts to more complex milling, drilling, tapping, and boring operations performed in block or plate type work.
Ability to work mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
Ability to apply concepts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
Ability to calculate problems involving right angled triangles
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram or schedule form
Knowledge of MME ERP systems, Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts
Ability to move and/or lift 10-80lbs
Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
Ability to pass a Drug Screen
High School Diploma or GED
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has worked in a Mill Room previously and can program and run a CNC Machine. This company has been in business for 40 years and provides a variety of industrial applications including medical instrumentation and implants, aerospace, automotive and food processing companies with precision machinery components, assemblies and engineering support services. Pay rate is $14.50-$17.50/hour, depending on experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
