GENERAL SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with US Government contract financial reporting requirements. The position will work closely across the Accounting, Finance, Contracts, Legal and Pricing functions to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) for pricing, cost accumulation, disclosure statements, preparation of the incurred cost submissions, and forward pricing rates. Additionally, ithe position will serve as primary point of contact for all Government accounting matters.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead review of company financial government compliance with policy, regulation, law, contracts, as they relate to finance and accounting records.
  • Lead efforts to maintain full CAS Compliance including, but not limited to, creation of policies and procedures, development of pricing and estimating manuals, audit of accounting records for consistency, allowability and allocability.
  • Assist in the preparation and audit support of the annual incurred cost audit submission.
  • Serve as primary interface between the company and DCAA on all government financial matters.
  • Lead the preparation of responses to contract audit reports and a variety of financial compliance issues.
  • Interfacing with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) on compliance related topics.
  • Interpreting CAS and FAR, particularly focused on Parts 30 and 31.
  • Monitoring changes in regulations and proactively developing strategies to comply.
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures comply with CAS, FAR, and disclosed practices.
  • Providing CAS and FAR expertise and advice to other areas of the company.
  • Supporting Business Systems audits and interpreting relevant regulations.
  • Preparing responses to alleged non-compliances or audit findings and negotiating resolution.
  • Maintaining our government contract cost accounting framework, including CASB Disclosure Statements, accounting changes, and related cost impact analyses.
  • Supporting government cost accounting and compliance aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, internal reorganizations, and company initiatives.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred.
  • 10 or more years experience in FAR/CAS compliance, preferrably in the defense industry.
  • CPA license as a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communications required.
  • Excellent computer skills in a SAP and Microsoft environment.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines.

TRAVEL

Up to 25% travel may be required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
